Each and every photo ordered is printed as a true 'Giclee' with K3 pigment inks on archival Fuji Lustre paper (or canvas) personally monitored for quality. (Definitely no 'machine prints'!) This guarantees not only a superb product and longevity but that each photograph accurately represents the photographers vision and intention.
The dimensions quoted are for image size - around which is a plain signed border of 1-2inches (2.5-5cm).
CANVAS PRINTS
A canvas is signed on the right-hand edge, rather than the lower edge, so may be hidden if the stretched canvas is subsequently framed.
PRINTS ON WATER-COLOUR PAPER
By special order only - phone, email or in writing - Giclee prints on the highest grade water-colour paper are available printed by Robert and signed in pencil within a feathered border for possible float mounting.
ALL PRINTS AND CANVASES are sent out carefully rolled and protected, mounted prints or stretched canvases can only be supplied by arrangement with an agreed supplementary charge.(This would normally be financially impracticable outside Europe)
As each photograph is printed individually to order please allow about seven to ten days for delivery from the time your order is acknowledged; this gives time for the inks to 'set' and a coating of U.V. protection to be applied.
VIEWING FROM YOUR MONITOR. All the pictures you see on this web-site were prepared using a calibrated LaCie monitor and an Apple-Mac computer. To us the images appear correct in tone, colour and saturation - subject of course to the necessarily severe limitations of colour gamut and resolution of any internet based file.
Much as can be seen in a shop display, different television screens from even the same manufacturer will show a variety of colours etc., so also you may not be seeing on your monitor exactly what we would hope. However, if you have concerns about any quality aspect of the images you see then please be assured that the final print is rich in tones with the envisaged brightness - and sharp wherever it was meant to be sharp! The guaranteed result of a custom made print.
IMAGE SIZES. As explained above, the sizes quoted are for the size of the actual image, the print itself is bigger all around to allow for various kinds of mounting or display.
For sheer practical reasons these dimensions have to be considered approximate, but of course will be as near as is possible; no significant variation on the quoted figures will be experienced.
However!!! A very few pictures have been cropped for important, purely aesthetical reasons to a size that happens to not quite conform to the standard proportions. If you should order one of these prints then we will inform you of the exact size to confirm it won't cause a problem; in practice though, the border around the image allows a lot of flexibility and options when it comes to displaying the print.
